Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Tribrid Mass Spectrometer
The newest addition to our mass spectrometers, the Thermo Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Tribrid MS allows systems biology researchers to test new limits of quantitation and protein characterization. It incorporates the brightest ion source, a segmented quadrupole mass filter with improved selectivity and ion transmission, Advanced Vacuum Technology for improved ion transmission to the Orbitrap mass analyzer and higher-capacity ETD fragmentation. Combined, these hardware improvements enable the new tribrid instrument to excel in the most challenging applications, including analysis of low level PTMs (phosphorylation, glycosylation), multiplexed relative quantitation using isobaric tags (TMT, iTRAQ), intact protein characterization, as well as MSn analysis of small molecules.
Q Exactive HF
We acquired a third mass spectrometer – Q Exactive plus (Thermo Scientific) in 2014 and upgraded to QE HF in 2015. The Q Exactive HF is a hybrid quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometer which has the ability to routinely and confidently identify, quantify, and confirm in a single analysis. We will be able to run data-dependent analysis (DDA), targeted SIM, targeted MS2, data-independent analysis (DIA) and parallel reaction monitoring (PRM) within the same mass spectrometer, which provide reproducible quantitation results while delivering complete qualitative confidence. The newly upgraded high-field orbitrap with 240,000 maximum resolution ensures maximum ID confidence and faster scan speed.
Agilent 1290 Infinity II LC and 6495 Triple Quad MS
To enhance our ability to analyse clinical sample using high-throughput LC-MS method, the new Agilent 1290 Infinity II LC system and 6495 Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer were acquired recently.
The 1290 Infinity II LC with the exceptional reliability and robustness and sample capacity up to 768 samples enable us to analyse large cohort within a short peroid. The combination of the JetStream, hexabore capillary and the dual-stage iFunnel techonlogy in the 6495 MS gives us highest level of sensitivity and linear dynamic range up to 6 orders of magnitude.
