Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Stem Cells / Proteomics(Closed)
Academic Department of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Division, King’s College London School of Medicine
This is an opportunity for a highly motivated post doctoral researcher, who would like to develop their scientific skills in a dynamic research environment. The post is supported by the KCL British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence and based within the Academic Cardiology Department at the King's College Denmark Hill Campus. The Cardiovascular Proteomics Group at King’s College is housed in the newly opened James Black Centre. Current research interests focus upon the role of progenitor cells for vascular repair. More detailed information can be found on our home page at www.vascular-proteomics.com. Applicants should have experience in cellular and molecular biology. The duration of the post is 12 months.
Research Environment and Training
Equipped with the powerful combination of the LTQ-Orbitrap XL high performance mass spectrometer and the TSQ Vantage system, our facility offers the most advanced proteomics capabilities available to today’s researchers and is on the leading edge of proteomic research in cardiovascular medicine. The proposed project will provide specific training in proteomic techniques. The research associate will be based in a multidisciplinary environment of molecular biologists, cell biologists, clinician scientists, and Ph.D./MD students and will be expected to participate in and make formal presentations to the weekly departmental laboratory meeting, and to submit and, if accepted, present, research findings to national and international peer-reviewed meetings. The project proposed is related to several other ongoing studies, although not overlapping with any of these, providing the opportunity to collaborate within the group.
Salary will be KCL Grade 6 starting at £30,594 plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum.
